Worship at Christ Church
Every Lord's
Day the Triune God graciously calls us together to worship Him as His
people. In response
to the Lord's call, we serve Him by praising His Name and presenting
ourselves as living sacrifices. But God also
serves us as we worship. The service
that He provides to us is the renewal of our covenant relationship with
Him through the good gifts He gives us. At Christ
Church of Lakeland, we see the Lord's Day worship as central to our
life as a congregation. It's during
this time that God brings us before Him in order to cleanse us from our
sin, instruct us by His Word, and feed our church family at His
table. Thanks to
God's service to us in this way, we are then renewed, equipped and sent
out to serve His kingdom in the coming week through our respective
callings. Because the
Lord is our God and we are His people, we rejoice to come into His
presence each Sunday to give Him the honor of which He is worthy and
receive the renewal that we all need. Our liturgy
– or order of service -- is based on principles that run
throughout the Bible, and is designed to restore all who worship Him in
such a way that they would be able to live each week effectively for
Him and for His glory. To learn more
about our worship, take a look at the sample
liturgy that we have made available. In looking it
over, you will see that the entire service is so ordered to take you
into God's presence in order to receive of His grace and be newly
commissioned to serve Him in the power of our Lord Jesus Christ.
